
TIME magazine released its first redesigned issue this month. I think they have been slowly transitioning into it for a while now, starting with the “TIME” font. Now even the structure has been redesigned. According to Pentagram: “The magazine has been organized into four clearly defined sections—Briefing, The Well, Life and Arts—to help readers navigate the content and provide the magazine with a stronger structure.” More about the redesign in Pentagram’s Blog.
I can imagine how massive the redesign effort it takes to roll out a redesign like this. Imagine how many versions, languages, variation on news articles. But being the biggest media company, I guess they have the TIME and resource to do it.

Here are the 3 covers of time magazine as seen in the US, Europe, and Asia. I quickly browsed through our version and saw it wasn’t far from the spreads posted in Pentagram’s entries. I’ll have to get a copy to look at it more closely.
