Last week I was helping create some illustrations (most of them created by Nic) for a powerpoint presentation. It reminded me of another project I did which I enjoyed. It was for a gifted child named Joey Orduna who is an award winning cart racer. When I did the illustration for this back in October, Joey was on his way to compete in another race in Italy.

The similarities to Speed Racer (go! speed racer go!) are uncanny because it IS speed racer! But we didn’t proceed with this banner because we wanted a real picture instead. It turned out well but I still like this one better.. The helmet and outfit was patterned after Joey’s real uniform.. I think I also added a mole because Joey had one too.
