
This week on Design Observer, Michael Bierut launches a book of 79 short essays. He discusses why he created a book and more importantly why he writes about design. This short essay is very inspiring for someone like me who also writes about design. One of the reasons why I started this blog was to practice writing and critical thinking on design as Mr. Bierut puts it:
“I’ve found that writing is a way to slow things down again, to question my own premises, to force myself to pay attention to things I might otherwise file away after the quick glance. Often, when I finish a piece and publish it on this site, I’m afraid that it’s too personal. Every response I get surprises me…”
