Bigby’s Cafe and Restaurant website

June 27th, 2007 by noelperlas

Another one for the our portfolio, Bigby’s Cafe and Restaurant is a franchise that started in Cagayan de Oro which now expanded to other provinces like Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod and Davao.  Bigby’s serve a variety of international dishes at affordable prices.  It is positioned between fine dining and fast-casual dining.

We actually made the website over a month ago,  I only noticed today that it was uploaded to their own domain: bigbyscafe.com.  This was not our first project with Bigby’s.  We also collaborated with them in the creation of their logo and menu. The menu had a redesign late last year.  I’m glad the client always keeps us in mind for design work, we have been with them from the start… but we have yet to step into one of their branches and eat some of their delicious looking food.

TO THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT OF BIGBYS:

    PLEASE DO RESPECT BOOKS.

i am from cagayan de oro. i am now based in manila. last sunday, i visited your resto as recommended by my sister. so there i treated them out, the whole family (at your limketkai branch). we were seated inside that private area where there were books pasted on the wall. at first look, i thought these books were just replicas or dummies. but then when i took a closer look, these were cut off leaving only the side cover and then pasted on the wall.

Here is the thing, in Washington DC, at the Library of Congress, chemists there painstakingly preserve old books, treat them well to save them. In Chicago, at the Newberry Library, books about Philippine history are displayed on pillows. and you have to wear gloves when flipping out the pages. BOOKS ARE RESPECTED. these are resources that we badly need. Filipinos do not read, we love to sing and dance. BUT we, the optimists, have never ceased hoping that one day si Juan ay matututo ding bumasa at isang araw ay makapgsulat na rin.

SO PLEASE, on your next branches, do not cut off these books. it would be good if you would display them as they are.

Hi Lea, Thanks for your concern. I’ve sent an email to the owners and they said that they haven’t been using books in their new branches. I personally haven’t been in any of their branches. I guess the branch you visited was one of their first ones. I have forwarded your email to the owners.
